Very great and beautiful depiction of Azrael, the Angel of Death! I've always seen this angel to be female more than male, and this painting delivers a vision of Azrael that is consistent with everything I know about this angel, and it depicts her with a sense of the sinister that portrays a dark angel with almost Sith Lord-like darkness to her. The eyes are particularly sinister here, and one could imagine that holding the gaze of a being like that would be no easy task! Great choice of background too, a mix of heavenly and hellish elements that blend together seamlessly. It all fits well with Azrael, too, and provides a great sense of harmony to the image! Great flowing black robes, by the way... again, there is a certain Sith Lord-like vibe, but I could think of nothing more fitting for the Angel of Death than that sort of attire. Great choice to keep her beauty intact and not portray her skeletal or skeleton-like, unlike some depictions. Whilst to some death can be an enemy, to those suffering enough it would be a beautiful mercy, so this depiction is not out of place, and it is well within the nature of the divine being who is depicted here. Great work! I am totally faving this amazing painting.
